FASTLATOR PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy and Data Processing Notice

Last updated: 26 September 2026. Service provider and data controller: I.GEN.CO ITALIANA SRL. Fastlator / NYVREA. Privacy contact: info@nyvrea.com.

This Privacy Policy explains how the Fastlator Android application accesses, uses, transmits, stores, and protects information when providing its user-requested translation functionality. It also describes the permissions required to display and operate Fastlator’s floating on-screen control. Update for version 1.1.19, 28 September 2026: after the first 72 hours, the free plan provides 2 attempts per day, up to 200 characters each. Longer daily-free texts are rejected before transmission and do not consume an attempt. The initial trial remains 20 attempts in total, up to 500 characters each; Premium allows 150,000 source characters per calendar week and up to 2,000 per request. The preset Test feature accepts up to 200 characters on all plans and shares the usage allowance. Usage counters remain on the device. Built-in tutorial videos play locally. Contacting support opens an email draft containing app and Android versions; the user chooses what to send, and chat text is not automatically included. The data-processing details and rights below continue to apply.

1. Scope, controller and privacy principles

About this Notice and how Fastlator works

This Privacy Policy applies to the Fastlator Android application and related privacy or support communications.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Fastlator Android application ("Fastlator" or the "App") and to privacy or support communications relating to the App. It explains how information may be accessed, used, transmitted, stored, disclosed and protected when a user requests a translation. It does not replace the privacy notices of Google Play, Android, OpenAI, the application in which Fastlator is used, or any other third-party service.

For purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data-protection laws, the controller for the processing described here is I.GEN.CO ITALIANA SRL. Privacy inquiries: info@nyvrea.com. Fastlator / NYVREA does not require users to create a Fastlator account.

Fastlator is designed around a deliberate, user-initiated workflow. In particular:

The App does not contain third-party advertising.

The App does not use advertising identifiers.

The App does not include an independent behavioural analytics or profiling system.

The App does not continuously read or monitor the screen.

When Fastlator is enabled, it can display a floating translation control over compatible Android applications. The user selects text, or places the cursor inside an editable field, and expressly taps the Fastlator floating control. Only after that tap does Fastlator use Android AccessibilityService functionality to request the relevant content from the active user-interface element.

Where text is selected, Fastlator uses that selection; otherwise it reads the active editable field. Only the first 500 source characters during the trial without a subscription, or 2,000 with Premium access, are sent for translation. Excess original text remains unchanged. Review the selected passage before translating. Do not submit identifiable names, passwords, payment-card or bank details, health information, confidential information or other sensitive personal data; use anonymous examples. Fastlator does not send chat messages on your behalf.

Fastlator sends the limited passage, selected languages and preset instructions to the OpenAI Responses API over HTTPS. It attempts to insert the result into the original editable field only while that field still matches. Copying the result to the Android clipboard is optional and off by default; enable it from the Settings icon beside the language icon. Clipboard copies use Android sensitive-content marking where supported. Fastlator does not create a persistent history of source texts or translations on the provider’s own servers; temporary app memory, local settings and counters, the destination app and external providers remain subject to the retention rules below.

Fastlator does not initiate a translation merely because text appears on screen, does not perform continuous screen reading for translation purposes, and does not transmit text before the user's deliberate tap.

Enabling Android permissions is optional, but refusing a permission may prevent the corresponding floating translation feature from operating.

2. INFORMATION PROCESSED AND ANDROID PERMISSIONS

Information processed and Android permissions

Translation content, local settings and permissions required for the floating popup

Translation content

When the user expressly requests a translation, Fastlator may process the selected text or, if no suitable selection is available, the full contents of the active editable field; the selected source and target languages; an applicable custom preset, style instruction or translation instruction; the translation returned by OpenAI; and operational request information required to complete the request. Translation content may include personal, confidential or third-party information if such information is present in the text chosen by the user. Fastlator cannot reliably distinguish ordinary text from sensitive information.

Local app data

Fastlator stores configuration locally on the device. This may include language preferences, custom presets, disclosure and consent state, floating-control position, service state, startup preferences, interface settings, and local usage or fair-use counters. Android backup for Fastlator App data is disabled. Local data remains until it is reset, overwritten, cleared through Android settings, or removed when the App is uninstalled, subject to Android's technical behaviour. A selected custom preset may be included in a translation request sent to OpenAI.

Technical network data

Internet communications necessarily expose standard connection information, such as IP address, request time, routing information and API metadata, to the network and API infrastructure used to deliver the service. Fastlator retrieves service configuration from Google Sheets over HTTPS; translation text is not sent to that configuration sheet. Google may process connection metadata under its own privacy terms. Fastlator does not use such information to create an advertising profile and does not contain an independent analytics SDK.

Support communications

If a user contacts info@nyvrea.com, the controller may process the sender's email address, message, technical details and attachments for the purpose of responding, maintaining an appropriate support record, complying with law, or establishing and defending legal claims. Users should not send passwords, API keys, authentication codes, payment-card information or unnecessary sensitive material.

Data not intentionally requested

Fastlator does not require a user name, Google account identity, postal address, contacts, precise location, photographs, microphone recordings, payment-card data or advertising identifier as part of the translation workflow. However, any type of information may be present in text voluntarily selected by the user.

Android Accessibility Service

Fastlator requires the user to enable its Android AccessibilityService in Android system settings. This sensitive, technically broad capability is necessary so that, only following the user's express tap, Fastlator can identify the active editable element, retrieve selected text or the full active-field text when necessary, and place translated text back into that field where supported. Fastlator does not use AccessibilityService to continuously read the screen, record keystrokes, collect browsing history, capture screenshots, read notification content, or monitor application content for advertising or profiling. The service can be disabled at any time. The cross-application translation workflow cannot operate without it.

Display over other apps

Fastlator requests Android's "Display over other apps" special access, corresponding to SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, solely to show the movable floating translation control above compatible applications. This permission is required for the on-screen popup. It does not by itself provide access to text; text access is provided separately through AccessibilityService and only used as described above. The user grants and may revoke this access through Android system settings. If revoked, the floating popup cannot be displayed.

Foreground service

Fastlator uses an Android foreground service with the specialUse service type to keep the floating control available while the user works in other applications. The service is accompanied by a user-visible ongoing notification with a Stop action. Running the service does not initiate a translation and does not by itself read or transmit text. Depending on the installed version and previously saved service state, Fastlator may receive a device-restart or app-update event to restore a floating service the user had previously enabled. Restoration does not trigger translation or content transmission.

Notification permission

On supported Android versions, Fastlator may request POST_NOTIFICATIONS so that Android can display the foreground-service status notification and Stop control. Notification permission does not authorize Fastlator to read the user's notifications.

Internet access

Fastlator requires internet access to transmit user-requested translation content to the OpenAI Responses API and receive the translation. Translation cannot operate offline.

Android clipboard

Copying translations to the Android clipboard is optional and off by default. You can enable or disable it in Fastlator Settings, beside the language icon. When enabled, copies are marked as sensitive where supported. Android controls the clipboard; content may remain until Android, the user, a keyboard or another application replaces or clears it. Sensitive-content marking is not encryption and does not guarantee that other components permitted by Android cannot access clipboard content.

Each permission is requested for the limited functionality described above.

Users may decline or revoke permissions, but disabling AccessibilityService or "Display over other apps" prevents the core floating cross-application translation feature from operating.

3. PURPOSES, LEGAL BASES, SERVICE PROVIDERS AND RETENTION

Purposes, legal bases, service providers and retention

Why information is processed and how it is protected

PURPOSES OF PROCESSING

Information is processed only for purposes connected with Fastlator:

providing a translation expressly requested by the user

retrieving the relevant text from the active compatible application

applying the selected languages and preset

generating and returning a translation through the OpenAI API

reinserting and copying the translation at the user's direction

maintaining local App settings and floating-control configuration

operating the user-started foreground service

enforcing reasonable fair-use limits

protecting service availability, integrity and security

diagnosing and responding to support requests

preventing misuse or unauthorised use

complying with legal obligations

responding to lawful requests

Translation content is not processed by the controller for targeted advertising or independent behavioural profiling.

LEGAL BASES UNDER THE GDPR

Where the GDPR applies, processing required to provide the translation expressly requested by the user is carried out to perform the user-requested service under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Limited operational processing for security, abuse prevention, fair-use enforcement, essential local state, technical support and legal-claim management may rely on the controller's legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f), balanced against user rights and limited by the user-initiated design, absence of advertising and analytics, and absence of continuous screen monitoring.

Processing required by applicable law relies on Article 6(1)(c).

Where a future optional function specifically relies on consent, consent will be requested separately under Article 6(1)(a) and may be withdrawn without affecting prior lawful processing.

An Android permission or special-access grant is a device-level technical authorization and is not blanket consent to unrelated processing.

OPENAI API PROCESSING

Fastlator uses the OpenAI Responses API to generate translations. Data sent may include the selected text or full active editable-field content, source and target languages, a selected preset or instruction, and the resulting translation. Requests are sent with store:false. This means Fastlator does not request persistent Responses API application-state storage for the response; it does not mean that no data can ever be retained.

OpenAI's published API data controls state that abuse-monitoring logs may contain prompts, responses and related metadata and are ordinarily retained for up to 30 days, unless longer retention is required by law. OpenAI-approved Zero Data Retention or Modified Abuse Monitoring configurations may exclude customer content from those logs, subject to eligibility and technical restrictions.

Unless this Policy is updated to confirm that such an approved configuration applies, users should assume OpenAI's default abuse-monitoring retention may apply.

OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the API customer affirmatively opts into data sharing.

Current provider information is available at:

RECIPIENTS AND DISCLOSURES

The controller does not sell translation content or disclose it to advertising networks or data brokers. Information may be made available where necessary to:

OpenAI and the infrastructure or subprocessors involved in delivering, securing and monitoring the API

Android, Google Play and device services operating permissions, local storage, clipboard and service notifications under their own terms

the destination application into which the user requests that translated text be inserted

professional advisers

courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or competent authorities when required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims

Google Play and Android may independently process installation, device, security, crash, purchase or platform information under their own terms. Fastlator Premium subscriptions and any eligible free trial use Google Play Billing. The App receives product identifiers, purchase tokens, signed purchase details, transaction time, purchase and acknowledgement status and renewal information to verify access, acknowledge purchases and restore an existing subscription. Fastlator does not receive Google account credentials or payment-card details. This processing is necessary to perform the subscription contract and prevent unauthorised access. The current App queries purchase status from Google Play and holds entitlement state in memory; it does not maintain a Fastlator-operated purchase database. Google retains purchase records under its own privacy policy and applicable legal obligations. Translation text is not included in billing requests. Users can manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play; uninstalling Fastlator does not cancel a subscription. Google's privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Once translated content is inserted into another application, that application processes it under its own privacy and retention practices.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

OpenAI and its infrastructure providers may process information outside the user's country, including in the United States and other jurisdictions with different data-protection standards. OpenAI publishes a Data Processing Addendum and a current subprocessor list describing its transfer framework. No statement in this Policy should be read as a representation that a special data-residency, Zero Data Retention or Modified Abuse Monitoring configuration is active unless expressly confirmed. Where applicable law requires a transfer mechanism, processing must be supported by an adequacy decision, contractual safeguards or another lawful mechanism.

RETENTION

Fastlator does not intentionally maintain a Fastlator-operated server-side history or user-content database of translation requests.

OpenAI's default abuse-monitoring logs may retain request or response content and metadata for up to 30 days as described above.

Local settings, presets, consent state, service preferences, overlay position and usage counters remain on the device until reset, overwritten, cleared through Android settings or removed by uninstalling Fastlator.

Clipboard content follows Android's clipboard lifecycle.

Text inserted into another application follows that application's retention rules.

Support communications are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain a support record, comply with legal obligations, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Retention may be extended where required by law, a binding order, a security investigation or a legal dispute.

SECURITY

Measures used by the current architecture include:

HTTPS encryption in transit to the OpenAI API

Android application sandboxing for local preferences

disabled Android backup for App data

store:false in Responses API requests

minimisation of Fastlator-operated server storage

user-initiated rather than continuous content access

a persistent notification and Stop control for the floating service

Android sensitive-content marking for clipboard text where supported

These measures reduce risk but cannot eliminate it. HTTPS is transport encryption, not end-to-end encryption to the final model. No software, network, operating system, clipboard or external API can be guaranteed completely secure.

Machine-generated translations may contain errors. Users should verify important translations and must not rely on Fastlator as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical or emergency decisions.

4. USER CONTROLS, RIGHTS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Choices, data-protection rights, restrictions and contact details

USER CONTROLS

Users can control Fastlator's processing by:

choosing which text and application are active before requesting a translation

declining or disabling Fastlator's AccessibilityService

revoking "Display over other apps" access

stopping the foreground service from its ongoing notification

changing notification permissions

clearing Fastlator's local storage through Android settings

clearing or replacing Android clipboard content

removing translated content from the destination application

uninstalling Fastlator

Disabling AccessibilityService or overlay access prevents the core floating cross-application translation workflow from operating.

DATA-PROTECTION RIGHTS

Subject to applicable law, conditions and exceptions, users may have the right to:

request confirmation as to whether their personal data are processed

obtain access

request rectification

request erasure

request restriction

object to processing based on legitimate interests

receive certain data in a portable format

withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority

Requests may be sent to info@nyvrea.com.

Because Fastlator does not create user accounts or intentionally maintain a controller-operated server-side history of translation requests, the controller may not hold a server-side record that can be linked to a particular user. Local App data is normally under the user's control and can be removed through Android settings or by uninstalling the App. OpenAI abuse-monitoring records may not be directly searchable by Fastlator using an end-user identity. Each valid request will be assessed in light of the information actually controlled by the controller, technical feasibility, provider arrangements and applicable law. This Policy does not promise that an email request can delete data the controller does not possess or cannot identify.

The controller may request limited information reasonably necessary to verify identity and prevent unauthorised disclosure. Rights are not absolute and may be restricted where an applicable legal exception applies. Users in Italy may lodge a complaint with the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali at https://www.garanteprivacy.it/.

SENSITIVE AND THIRD-PARTY INFORMATION

Fastlator is a general-purpose translation tool and is not a secure repository for highly sensitive information. Users should not translate:

passwords, authentication codes, cryptographic keys

complete payment-card or bank credentials

government identification numbers

confidential health records

biometric information

trade secrets, privileged legal material, or other information whose disclosure could create serious harm

Fastlator does not ask users to submit special categories of personal data. Such information could nevertheless be included in text chosen by the user. If text contains personal data concerning another person, the user is responsible for ensuring that they are authorised to process and transmit it. Fastlator does not independently verify ownership, confidentiality or lawful authority over user-selected text.

ADULTS ONLY

Fastlator is intended exclusively for users aged 18 or over. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly seek personal data from persons under 18. Persons under 18 must not install or use Fastlator.

AUTOMATED PROCESSING

Fastlator uses an artificial-intelligence model to produce requested translations. It does not use that process to profile users or make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects concerning them. Users remain responsible for reviewing generated translations before relying on, publishing or sending them.

NO ADVERTISING, SALE OR BEHAVIOURAL ANALYTICS

Fastlator does not display third-party advertising, sell personal data, share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising, use an advertising identifier, operate an independent user-profiling system, or include a third-party behavioural analytics SDK. Transmission to OpenAI is performed to generate translations and support API security and abuse prevention, not to deliver advertising.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Fastlator operates together with Android, Google Play, OpenAI and compatible third-party applications. The controller does not control the independent privacy, security, compatibility or retention practices of those services. Users should consider the destination application's privacy policy and the confidentiality of the relevant content before translating or reinserting text.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

This Policy may be updated to reflect changes to Fastlator, its data flows, service providers, legal requirements or security practices. A revised Policy will display a new "Last updated" date. Where a change materially affects personal-data processing, an additional notice or consent request will be provided where required by law. Users should review this page periodically and after installing an updated Fastlator version.
